Topic Description:
Rubella - A mild viral illness with symptoms of red rash, low-grade fever, swollen glands, and sometimes achy joints. The rubella virus can infect and damage a fetus if the mother is not immune to the disease. Also known as German measles, 3 day measles, or light measles. This infection has been almost entirely eliminated in areas where standard infant immunizations and boosters are performed.
